My Story

I hope you from the bottom of my heart that you are in good health and receiving the Lord´s blessings with your loved ones. I am Flora Dominga De La Cruz De La Cruz and I am 15 years old. In this opportunity, I am so happy to share with you a little about my family and me.  My mother`s name is Rosa De La Cruz Perez. She is 36 years old. Currently, she continues taking care of the family and she is a housewife. Moreover, she raises hens and cows to sell and get some income, and she is the only one that is supporting the family with home expenses. My father`s name is Carlos De La Cruz Garcia and he is 47 years old. Unfortunately, he had an accident on his motorcycle, and he hurt his left knee 1 year ago and has not worked during this time.  Fortunately, he visited the doctor and is under medical treatment, and now he is recovering. I ask for your prayers for him.  As a big and humble family, our current needs are corn, groceries, and clothes. We grow corn and black beans for family consumption. Nowadays, we are attending the Catholic Church every Monday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who encouraged me to seek God. By the grace of God, all my family and I are in good health.

This year, I am in 6th grade at school. I continue receiving face-to-face classes. I like this study method because I am learning a lot. My mother strives to support my siblings and me at school. Nowadays, school fees are expensive, and sometimes it is difficult to cover all expenses due to a lack of a stable job and because my father is not working due to the accident. I want to let you know that my dream is to become a housewife. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is an important language.  My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because our custom is to eat “tamales” (a typical dish) and “ponche” (a hot beverage made with fruits). I like to drink Pepsi-Cola. About sports, I prefer to play football. What I like for my birthday is that my mother buys me a special snack. We are grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at the end of the year. I hope you enjoy reading my letter.  May God bless you everywhere you are!

Hugs with much love,

Flora Dominga De La Cruz De La Cruz
