My Story

First, I thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Rosa, and I hope you are doing well with your loved ones. I still attend the Prince of Peace Church. My family and I usually attend it on Mondays and Wednesdays. We are sure about our salvation and appreciate the LW staff for sharing God’s news with us. A teacher of the evangelism team took advantage of that moment to ask for my mother’s help to collect my news for you. Undoubtedly, the feeding program is a meaningful project for us because it blesses my younger sister, Rosa, and me with food and medicine. My father is Alfredo Pu and he is 36 years old. He traveled some years ago to the United States because there are not enough job opportunities in our country. He works on a farm by feeding the cattle to support our needs. He keeps in touch with us. My mother dedicates her time to raise and sell domestic animals. We have some hens, pigs and sheep at home. Mari Tzoy is my mother’s name and she 36 years old too.

Besides working hard at home, she also earns extra income by weaving. We have limited money to buy food supplies, but we do our best by growing corn and beans for our consumption. Thankfully, we are healthy. I am twelve years old and my birthday will be in December. My family usually prepares a delicious lunch and buy a cake to celebrate my birthday. I am still younger, so I do not know which career is the best for me. However, I am doing my best as a sixth grader to become a professional when I am older. Attending school helps me to understand the lessons much better than studying at home. Even though our economic situation is a little weak, it has not been hard for my parents to cover my school needs because those are not expensive in my village. Christmas is my favorite holiday because I enjoy eating delicious tamales and burning firecrackers. I love drinking Coca-Cola and playing soccer. If I could learn a new language, I would like to try English. This is all for now, but I hope you find my information outstanding.

With much love,

Rosa Nohemy Pu Tzoy
