My Story

My name is Anderson and I greet you fondly, hoping you are keeping well. I want you to know that my family and I attend the Catholic Church once a week. By God’s grace, none of us are sick. My father, Luis Pinula, is 35 years old. He still works in a bank to support our needs. At the moment, he has not recognized me legally. When I was born, my dad was in the United States, and because of that, I only have my mother’s last name. My mom, Sabina Poncio, is 29 years old. She works hard as a businesswoman and seamstress to help my father with the expenses. They do their best for our family, but nowadays everything has become expensive. What we need the most are groceries, especially corn. Fortunately, I can attend the feeding program. This project has become a tremendous blessing for my family and me because of the tasty lunches that I can receive. We have hens and pigs at home. We usually sell some hens just in case of need. Besides that, we harvest corn and beans for our consumption.

I am ten years old, and my biggest dream is to become an accountant. I am in fourth grade this year. I prefer to receive face-to-face classes because it helps me to improve my knowledge. Fortunately, my parents have had enough income to buy my school supplies. I want you to know that the fair in my village is the most engaging. What I enjoy the most is the amusement park. I love drinking Fruta Fresca (it is a Guatemalan artificial beverage). I would love to learn a new language like English. I hope to be able to do it someday. I had my birthday in May. My parents usually organize a modest birthday party to celebrate my day with our loved ones. That brings me a lot of happiness. I like sports, but my favorite is soccer. This is all for now about my life. Before ending this letter, let me tell you that my mother helped a teacher of LW to get all my information for you. Besides that, the teacher encouraged my mom and me to continue trusting in the Almighty. I send you many kisses and hugs, but I hope to greet you soon.

With much love,

Anderson Roberth Fray Poncio Alvarez
