This is Maria Teresa Santos Portuguez, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are still members of Full Gospel Church, and we attend service on Saturday. We are assured of our Salvation. We have hens, pigs and turkeys at home, but we do not have crops like other families. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries like corn. I live with my maternal grandparents and they are responsible for me. My grandpa’s name is Ignacio, and he is 65 years old. He works as a day laborer to support us. My grandma’s name is Teresa, and she is 52 years old. She works hard at home and looks after our domestic animals.
Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 10 years old, and I am healthy. I repeated 2nd grade this year, and I felt happy to receive face-to-face classes. It was difficult for my grandfather to cover my school expenses since he does not have a stable job. I want to become a secretary when I am older. My favorite celebration is New Years because it is exciting to start another year. I enjoy eating cake for my birthday. I prefer soccer as a sport, and I love drinking “Incaparina” which is a hot beverage made from corn and soy. I have to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. Living Water is very important in my life, and I am grateful for the lunches and medicine received. I hope to hear from you soon.
With much love
Maria Teresa Santos Portuguez
