My Story

It is a pleasure to greet you hoping you have a successful day and you are blessed by God. I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. This is Vilma Maria Elena Chingo Cux and I am 9 years old. Thankfully, we continue attending the Pentecostal Prince of Peace Church. We thank the LW evangelism team who shared the Gospel with us and for their encouraging words. This year, I am in 3rd grade at school. I continue receiving face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot. My father strives to support my sisters and me at school. Nowadays, school fees are expensive and sometimes it is difficult to cover all expenses due to a lack of stable jobs.  My dream is to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with other people.  My favorite celebration of the year is “New Year” because our custom is to eat “tamales” (a typical dish). I like to drink coffee. Among sports, I prefer marathon races. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Angelica Cux Gomez. She is 36 years old. Currently, she continues being a housewife. Moreover, she raises domestic animals like hens, pigs, sheep, and cows to sell and get some income. Sometimes, she weaves typical clothes. My father`s name is Juan Chingo Mendez. He is 38 years old. Currently, he earns a living by working as a farmer and day laborer. In addition, he grows peas, and corn for the family`s consumption and also to sell. We are a big family, so our current needs are groceries and corn. We are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at the end of the year.  I hope you like to read my letter. May God bless you everywhere you are!

Hugs and kisses,

Vilma Maria Elena Chingo Cux
