My Story

It is a beautiful day to say hello to you trusting you are receiving many blessings from our Heavenly Father! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Pentecostal Prince of Peace Church; we attend twice every week. This time LW staff shared the gospel with us and encouraged us to continue seeking God and trust our salvation in Him. We appreciate so much that they are worried about our spiritual life. My family and I are in good health, thanks to the Lord. My father is Leonel Us Ajqui, and he is 33 years old. He works as a construction assistant to supply the family´s expenses. Although he is a deaf-mute person, he comprehends and communicates with us by signs; we learn how to do it. My mother is Ana Veronica Aguilar De La Cruz, and she is 24 years old. She stays busy with the duties at home, and she also raises hens and pigs. At home, we grow corn, black beans, oranges, and limes for the family's consumption.

I am Juan Cristian Us Aguilar, and I am a 9-year-old boy. I am a third-grade student; my learning has improved because I receive classes at school. Nowadays, school supplies are expensive, and it is hard for my parents to cover them because of a lack of resources. When I grow up, I would like to be a teacher because it is an interesting profession. My native language is K'iche´ Mayan dialect. I can speak a little Spanish, but I would like to improve it so that I can communicate better with other people. My favorite drink is “atol de masa” (it is a hot beverage made of dough, sugar, and cinnamon); it is delicious. The sport I like the most is cycling. I like the Christmas season because people decorate their houses with Christmas lights; I love the shiny colors. Someday, I would like to have a birthday party with my family; it will be so special for me. Being part of Living Water has been a great blessing for me because I receive tasty meals, and medical care in the clinics which is a big help for me and my family. At home, the primary needs for us are groceries and clothes. I leave you for now. Every kind of blessing to you!

Best wishes,

Juan Cristian Us Aguilar
