My Story

Hello! I greet you cordially and hope you have a blessed and beautiful day alongside your loved ones. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me. My mother`s name is Teresa De La Cruz Morente. She is 29 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home and taking care of us. Moreover, she raises pigs and hens at home. My father`s name is Efrain De La Cruz Morente.  He is 35 years old.  Currently, he continues working as a farmer and day laborer in order to support the family. We grow black beans for our family's consumption. Our current needs are corn and groceries because we are a humble family. At the moment, we continue attending the Methodist Church called “Salvation´s Rock” every Monday and Friday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team for the encouraging words that they shared with my mother during the visit, so my mother has Jesus in her heart. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Deysi Mishel de la Cruz De La Cruz and I am 8 years old. This year I am in 2^nd grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes every day and I like this study method because I learn a lot about subjects. At the moment, my father is making an effort to support me and my siblings at school even though he does not have a stable job and school fees are expensive. My dream is to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is “New Year” because I like to see the fireworks in my village. I like to drink papaya smoothies. What I like to do for my birthday is to go out with my family. About sports, I enjoy playing soccer. My family and I are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December. I hope you enjoy reading my letter. May God protect and bless you greatly!
