My Story

Hello! Sponsor, how are you? I greet you cordially and hoping you have a brilliant and wonderful day. I want to tell you a little about my family and me through this letter. I am Zoila Roxana Suar Lares and I am 7 years old.  As a family, we continue attending the Catholic Church every Monday. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to me during the visit.  As you know, I was not in school due to my age. My dream is to help my mother with chores at home. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, but I would like to learn Spanish in order to have good communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because our custom is to eat “tamales” (a typical dish) and to see the Christmas color lights. I like to drink soft beverages. I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources. Among sports, I prefer soccer. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Micaela Suar Lares. She is 26 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home, taking care of us, and she raises hens to sell and gets some income. My stepfather`s name is Jose Maria Morente. He is 23 years old. Currently, he continues earning a living by working as a day laborer. Sometimes, he contributes to home expenses. In addition, he grows corn for our family’s consumption. As a needy and humble family, our current needs are corn, groceries, and clothes.  We are very grateful to you and Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I received recently through LW. I hope you enjoy reading my letter. May God take care of you everywhere you are!
