My Story

Hello! How are you? This is Aroldo, and I am happy to write you this letter. I want to tell you about my family and me. We are still members of New Covenant Church, and we attend services three times per week. We are assured in our Salvation, and LW Evangelism team encouraged us to continue trusting in God. We have pigs and hens at home, and we grow bananas for the family consumption. At the moment, our greatest needs are groceries and clothes. My father’s name is Victor, but he is not part of my life. My mother’s name is Juana, and she is 27 years old. She is in good health, and she works as a farmer. She goes to pick coffee beans at the coast for three months, and during that time, my grandfather, Pedro, takes care of my siblings and me. He works as a day laborer and helps us financially.

My full name is Aroldo Alexander Simaj Ponce, and I am 12 years old. I am in 2^nd grade, and it is better for me to attend school in person because I learn more, and I can make more friends. It has been difficult for my mother to support me with my school supplies. I want to become a teacher when I am older. I speak Quiche dialect as my first language, so I have to improve my Spanish. I really love eating cake when it is my birthday. I am healthy, and my favorite sports are cycling and running. I enjoy Christmas time because I can see many fireworks and we prepare “tamales”. I like orange juice. Living Water and you are very important to me, and I am grateful for the food and medicine. May God bless you!
